Two years ago, we studied "When God Writes Your Love Story" in the women's small group I lead.

One week I had all of us write purpose statements for our time of singleness (for those of us who were single). I found mine in one of my journals a few weeks ago:

I believe this time in my life is to be spent continuing to learn my value as an individual and to seek obedience to the Lord's will above all else. It is to be spent loving others through community and prayer and fellowship and the building up of strong friendships. I am to further discern my calling, my passions, and a sense of what I need in a mate.

The Lord is so good.
